[FAA Part 107 & Airspace](https://help.scanifly.com/drone-faqs?hsLang=en#faa-part-107-airspace) # FAA Part 107 ## Commercial Drone License Required in the USA **Part 107 Certificate required!** Flying drones in the US for commercial purposes (versus recreational or educational purposes) requires the pilot to obtain a Part 107 Certificate from the FAA. Commercial drone work is defined by the pilot obtaining anything of value in return for the flight operations. **Important - Even if your drone weighs less than 250g (i.e. DJI Mini 2), you must still have your Part 107 AND register it when using it for commercial purposes.**   ### Part 107 Certificate If you're not FAA-certified, and you are looking to become a certified remote pilot, we highly recommend [Drone Pilot Ground School](https://www.dronepilotgroundschool.com/scanifly/). ### Rules For All Part 107 Flights - Always avoid manned aircraft. - Never operate in a careless or reckless manner. - Keep your drone within sight. Prior to your lapse date, you should enroll in one the [FAA's Recurrent Training Courses](https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/recurrent-training-courses-drone-pilots-available-online). You should select the training option from the third bullet point, unless you are a Part 61 certificate holder.  This recurrent training course is all online and does not require you to take an in-person test at a testing center. If by chance, you have let your certificate lapse, that is alright. You simple need to take the recurrent training and then you will be back in compliance.
