Proposal Tool Permissions: Who Can Do What

Learn the four core proposal permission levels, plus one additional access grant, so you can give each person on your team exactly the access they need.

Proposal permissions decide what each person on your team can reach in the Proposal Tool, including whether they can see global settings at all. Set them in Team Management from the Scanifly homepage.

🚧 Admin only 🚧 Changing permissions requires Team Management access.

The Four Permission Levels

  • No proposal access. The person cannot reach the Proposal Tool. Recommended for site surveyors and field staff.
  • View only. The person can view created proposals but cannot create them. Recommended for office and admin staff.
  • Create proposals. The person can create and edit proposals, but has no access to global settings. Recommended for salespeople.
  • Manage proposals. Create, plus settings. Recommended for sales managers.

Additional Access Granted by Scanifly

  • Manage proposal templates. Unlocks the template builder. Only a Scanifly admin can grant this, so contact Scanifly support if you need it. The template builder is a significant step up in complexity from every other setting in the tool; most companies should start with the standard proposal, the included reports, and ready-made templates instead.

1. Open Team Management

From the Scanifly homepage, click Team.

2. Edit the User

Find the person whose access you want to change, click on the three-dot menu on their user tile, then click Edit Permissions.

3. Set the Proposal Permission Level

In the proposal section of the user edit panel, select one of the four permission levels, and then click Update.

Permission level controls what a person can do in the Proposal Tool. To control what they and your customers see, including settings and cost breakdowns, see Control What Your Team Sees: Section and Line Item Visibility.
