##### Generating and Sharing
### Send a Proposal for Signature with SignNow
#### Send a saved proposal to SignNow so your customer can sign it electronically.
If your company uses SignNow, you can send a saved proposal straight to SignNow for signature instead of downloading the PDF and uploading it yourself.
---
🚧 **Admin only** 🚧
This option only works once the SignNow API key has been added in the Proposal Tool's APIs and Credentials settings. If you do not see it, ask your sales manager or admin to add the key.
For more information on APIs and Credentials: OpenAI and SignNow, please see this support article: [link placeholder].
---
##### 1. Confirm the SignNow Integration Is Set Up
Check with your admin that the SignNow API key is in place under APIs and Credentials in global settings. Without it, there is nothing to send to.

##### 2. Open a Saved Proposal
Open the proposal you want signed from your saved proposals. Only a saved proposal can be sent, so generate and save first.

---
##### 3. Send the Proposal to SignNow
Send the saved proposal to SignNow. The document uploads to SignNow, and from there you send it to your customer to sign.

---
[NEEDS CLARIFICATION: confirm the exact in-product label and location of the send-to-SignNow control on a saved proposal, whether the send happens in Scanifly or in SignNow after upload, and whether the signed document returns to Scanifly or stays in SignNow.]

## Draft Notes

**Needs clarification:**
- Confirm the exact in-product label and location of the send-to-SignNow control on a saved proposal.
- Does the send to the customer happen inside Scanifly, or in SignNow after the document uploads? Both walkthroughs describe the upload but not the final send.
- Does the signed document return to Scanifly, or does it stay in SignNow?
- Is there a proposal state or requirement beyond "saved" before a proposal can be sent?
**Publishing note:**
- Per the plan, this article should be cross-listed under the Integrations category as well as Generating and Sharing, so someone searching for SignNow finds it without knowing it lives under the Proposal Tool. D8 (APIs and Credentials) carries the same cross-listing note.
**Terminology note:**
- Both walkthroughs use "DocuSign" loosely as a verb when describing SignNow. This draft says SignNow only, and does not mention DocuSign, since DocuSign is a different vendor and no DocuSign integration was described.
**Suggested cross-references:**
- D8 (APIs and Credentials: OpenAI and SignNow) should link here, and this article links back.
- C1 (Generate, Preview, and Save a Proposal) should link here as the step before signature.
- A3 (Proposal Tool Permissions) is relevant, since a salesperson without settings access cannot add the key themselves.
