Simple Design

Designing, made for Sales Reps!

Quickly add and remove modules within a design, unlocking high impact data such as system size and production changes on site, while also showing off the 3D model.

How do I get started?

SimpleDesign is a permission that you can turn on for a teammate as long as you are an admin. (link to permissions article) From that point on, the user will only be able to access Simple Design tools on projects that have empty segments.  The segments can either be drawn by your in house design team, or by Scanifly's design services (insert link here?).

Scene Controls

Moving around the SimpleDesign scene is easy.

Right click and hold to rotate view. Adjusting this vertically will zoom into the center of the screen for a better perspective view. The vertical adjustment is not possible when actively in the design stage.

Hold scroll wheel to move your viewpoint.

Scroll the scroll wheel to zoom in and out.

Design Workflow

Once you enter a project with your SimpleDesign enabled account, you will see a menu at the top left with 3 steps.

The first step is to input the customers Utility Bill. This will inform the Offset calculation as you are adjusting your design.

The next step is where you will do all of the design work. Each segment that was drawn by the designers will show a max fill of modules in "ghost mode". In this mode, you can turn on different modules from each segment all at the same time. The default module used for this can be setup by an admin on your team, in order to simplify this step even further.

When selecting or deselecting modules, you can click and drag in order to edit your array more quickly.

Once the final design that reaches your offset goal is attained, you can move on to details, which will show information on each segment, as well as a cumulative row. If it looks good, click on Finalize Design. If you need to close it out without finalizing, click on the save icon at the top right corner. Note for Tim/Suzanne - do I talk about difference between save and finalize? Will there be any simpledesign users who are not using an api integration?

Sales Rep vs Sales Manager

There are two levels of SimpleDesign; Sales Rep and Sales Manager. The only differences between the two are that the Sales Managers are able to edit keepouts, fire setbacks, and import models.
