[Leads](https://help.scanifly.com/leads?hsLang=en) # Solar Estimator Design Settings ## Adjust the Modules, Placement & Thresholds, System Performance, and System Losses for your Lead generated Solar Estimates To get to the Solar Estimator Design settings, start by navigating to the [Design Settings](https://help.scanifly.com/scanifly-global-settings?hsLang=en) menu. Then, look for the Solar Estimator tab under the Estimator submenu.  ![](https://help.scanifly.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-29-2026-01-37-25-4881-PM.png?width=670&height=444&name=image-png-Oct-29-2026-01-37-25-4881-PM.png) **Modules** - Choose your default module type and orientation for all solar estimates. If you have no orientation preference, select **Mixed** to try and maximize roof space utilization.  **Placement & Thresholds** - Set the module spacing, setback values, and any thresholds that affect where modules are placed. Scanifly only places modules where the roof meets your minimum ASA and TSRF percentages. If you enter the customer’s estimated yearly electricity usage, the target offset sizes the system to meet that usage.  **System Performance** - Update the module quality, DC to AC size ratio, and inverter efficiency whenever your equipment changes.  ![](https://help.scanifly.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-29-2026-01-40-19-4407-PM.png?width=670&height=400&name=image-png-Oct-29-2026-01-40-19-4407-PM.png) **Losses** - The Losses table lists the factors that reduce production.
