##### Generating and Sharing
### What's Included in the Standard Proposal
#### A page-by-page reference for the built-in proposal, what appears on each page, and where each piece is configured.
**The standard proposal works per project with no setup or configuration at all.** Finish a design, create a proposal, and generate. Every other part of the Proposal Tool, presets, pricing rules, variables, and custom templates, is optional on top of that.
This article lists what appears on each page of the standard proposal so you know exactly what your customer receives.
---
##### The Five Page Toggles and Use Saved Defaults
When you generate, you control which pages export. Turn any page off and the page count adjusts, so a four page export is normal.
* **Use Saved Defaults:** falls back to the default page visibility your admin set in global settings.
* **Cover:** the title page.
* **Exec Summary:** produces the page headed "Executive Summary".
* **Tech Analysis:** produces the page headed "Technical Analysis".
* **Tech Details:** produces the page headed "Technical Details".
* **Additional Images:** produces the page headed "Design Images".
[Image: Screenshot of the page toggle panel on a generated proposal, with Use Saved Defaults and all five page toggles visible]
---
##### Cover
* **Company name:** your company, from your Scanifly company settings.
* **Title and subtitle:** the proposal title and subtitle set in Company Details.
* **Prepared For:** the customer name and full address, from the project.
* **Project Details:** system size in kW DC, panel count, annual production in kWh/yr, and the date.
* **View 3D Design Model:** a link to an interactive 3D view of the design.
* **Footer:** copyright line with your company name, your phone number, and your website.
* **Page number:** shown as page X of Y, reflecting only the pages you left on.
[Image: Screenshot of the Cover page of a generated standard proposal with the View 3D Design Model link highlighted]
For more information on Share the 3D Design Model From a Proposal, please see this support article: [link placeholder].
---
##### Executive Summary
Subtitled "System Performance & Financial Return", with the customer name repeated at the top. This is the page most reps present from.
* **Headline metrics:** System Size, Year 1 Yield, Offset, and 25-Year Savings.
* **Investment Summary, itemized:** Base System Cost, then each adder on its own named line, a Gross Total, then each incentive as its own negative line, then Net Investment.
* **Cumulative Cost Comparison chart:** total cost with solar against the cost of doing nothing over 25 years, plotted as two series, Utility Cost and Solar Cost, from Year 1 through Year 25.
* **Financing metrics:** Estimated Monthly Payment with the term and APR, Monthly Utility Savings, Payback Period, and Lifetime ROI.
[Image: Screenshot of the Executive Summary page showing the headline metrics, itemized Investment Summary, Cumulative Cost Comparison chart, and financing metrics]
---
##### Technical Analysis
The customer name is repeated at the top.
* **Energy Profile:** a monthly chart comparing household consumption to solar production, plotted as two series, Consumption and Production, January through December.
* **System Components:** Modules with count and model, Inverter System with unit count and model, and Balance of System with the number of configured items and each item listed with its quantity.
* **Environmental Impact:** Trees Planted, Miles Avoided, and CO2 Offset (Tons).
Consumption is divided evenly across twelve months, so the Consumption series sits level while Production varies month to month. Be ready to explain that to a customer who asks.
[Image: Screenshot of the Technical Analysis page showing the Energy Profile chart, System Components list, and Environmental Impact figures]
For more information on Enter or Confirm Electrical Usage, please see this support article: [link placeholder].

##### Technical Details
Subtitled "Complete System & Financial Snapshot", with the customer name repeated at the top. This is the deepest page, and the one a technically minded customer will read closely.
* **Headline metrics:** System Size, Panels, Year 1 Production, Offset, Solar Access (ASA), and Solar Resource (TSRF). The page prints its own inline definition of both terms: "ASA = solar access at the array. TSRF = total solar resource factor including orientation and shading."
* **What's Installed:** Module Configuration, Module Model(s), Inverter Configuration, BOS Components, Install Type, Array Segments, Avg Azimuth / Tilt, and Roof Coverage as both a percentage and a square footage.
* **How It Performs:** Year 1 Production, Annual Consumption, Design Offset, Production Ratio, Array Solar Access (ASA), Total Solar Resource (TSRF), Weather Station with its ID, name, state, data source, and distance from the project, and Utility Rate per kWh.
* **Financial Snapshot:** the same itemized cost and incentive breakdown as the Executive Summary, plus Monthly Payment with term and APR, Payback Period, 25-Year Savings, and Lifetime ROI.
* **Financial Assumptions:** Utility Inflation, System Degradation, Projected Life, Net Metering, and Utility Provider.
* **Environmental Impact:** Trees Equivalent, Miles Avoided, and CO2 Tons / Year.
[Image: Screenshot of the Technical Details page showing all six sections]
**What the "(project)", "(default)", and "(assumed)" tags mean.** Each financial assumption is labeled with where its value came from, so both you and your customer can see how much of the projection is measured and how much is estimated.
* **(project):** the value comes from this project, for example Utility Inflation, which follows the utility you selected in the editor.
* **(default):** the value comes from a setting or a product default rather than from this project, for example System Degradation and Projected Life.
* **(assumed):** the value is neither pulled from the project nor set as a default. It is a standing assumption in the calculation, for example Net Metering printed as 1:1 Retail.
[NEEDS CLARIFICATION: are the financial assumptions tagged "(default)" and "(assumed)" configurable anywhere, specifically System Degradation at 0.5% per year, Projected Life at 25 Years, and Net Metering at 1:1 Retail? None of them appeared in the global settings walkthrough. If they are configurable, this article needs to say where.]
**The Financial Snapshot duplicates the Executive Summary.** The itemized cost and incentive breakdown appears on both pages. If you do not want those numbers stated twice, turn one of the two pages off when you generate.
**Blank fields print as "Not provided".** Any field you leave empty in the editor renders as "Not provided" on this customer-facing page. Install Type is a common one. Scan for it before you send.

❗**IMPORTANT**
With everything turned on, the itemized cost breakdown appears on **both** the Executive Summary and the Technical Details pages, and it names every adder and every incentive individually. Your customer sees each line by name and amount. **Line Item Visibility** is the control that decides this, and it works at two levels: a global default in settings, and a per-proposal adjustment on Project Builder. Check it before your first send, so you know exactly what you are showing.
For more information on Control What Your Team Sees: Section and Line Item Visibility, please see this support article: [link placeholder].

##### Where Each Piece Is Configured
| What you want to change | Where it lives | Article |
|---|---|---|
| Proposal title and subtitle | Company Details, **Default Proposal Controls** | D3, Company Details, Branding, and Default Proposal Controls |
| Which pages appear by default on export | Company Details, **Default Proposal Controls**, default page visibility | D3, Company Details, Branding, and Default Proposal Controls |
| Accent colors | Company Details, color scheme | D3, Company Details, Branding, and Default Proposal Controls |
| Phone number and website in the footer | Company Details, proposal contact fields | D3, Company Details, Branding, and Default Proposal Controls |
| Which cost and incentive lines appear | Line Item Visibility, global default in settings and per proposal on Project Builder | D4, Control What Your Team Sees |
| Environmental figures | Environmental impact calculations | D6, Defaults and Assumptions |
| Utility rate and inflation | Utility library | D6, Defaults and Assumptions |
[Image: Screenshot of the Company Details settings panel with default proposal controls and color scheme visible]
📘 **Pro Tip:**
The full cash flow table is a report, not a standard proposal page. On the standard proposal, the Cumulative Cost Comparison chart on the Executive Summary is the equivalent view.

6. [Image: Screenshot of the Design Images page showing four imported images]
7. [Image: Screenshot of the Company Details settings panel with default proposal controls and color scheme visible]
**Needs clarification:**
- Are the financial assumptions tagged "(default)" and "(assumed)" configurable anywhere, specifically System Degradation at 0.5% per year, Projected Life at 25 Years, and Net Metering at 1:1 Retail? None appeared in the global settings walkthrough. This is the one open item in the article.
- The provenance tag explanations for "(project)", "(default)", and "(assumed)" are written from the plan's description plus the sample export's tagging. Confirm the definitions with product before publishing, since a customer-facing label is being explained to reps.
- Weather Station formatting is described as ID, name, state, data source, and distance, based on the single sample value. Confirm that all five parts always appear.
**Terminology note:**
- The phrase "Default Proposal Controls" appears in the configuration table. That is the in-product settings section label and the D3 article title, not a reference to the standard proposal. The article never calls the standard proposal a "default proposal." Flagging it so a reviewer grepping for that phrase knows why it is there.
**Known label inconsistencies in the product, documented as-is, not silently corrected:**
- The page toggle reads **Additional Images** while the page heading reads **Design Images**. The article states both rather than picking one.
- Environmental labels differ by page: Technical Analysis prints **CO2 Offset (Tons)** and Technical Details prints **CO2 Tons / Year**. Same value, two labels, one of which omits the time period. Both are listed as they appear. Worth aligning in product.
- Offset appears as **187%** on the Executive Summary and Technical Details headline metrics but as **186.5%** in the Technical Details How It Performs section. The article lists the field names without asserting the two agree. Worth aligning in product.
- The sample export is an Arizona project carrying a New York State Tax Credit. That is demo data, not a bug, but it does show that incentives are not location validated. Not mentioned in the article. Product should decide whether docs or the product should warn.
**Product notes, not doc problems:**
- Net Metering printed as "(assumed) 1:1 Retail" on a customer-facing savings projection is the highest-stakes item flagged in the plan. 1:1 retail net metering no longer exists in several major markets, so a 25-year savings figure built on it can be materially wrong. Either make it configurable or make the assumption more prominent on the page.
- The itemized Investment Summary being on by default exposes every adder and incentive by name. Documentation points reps at Line Item Visibility, but the default-on behavior is worth revisiting.
- Empty fields printing as "Not provided" on a customer-facing page would be better solved by a validation warning before generate.
**Suggested cross-references:**
- C1 (Generate, Preview, and Save a Proposal) should link here.
- C6 (Share the 3D Design Model From a Proposal) should link here.
- D3, D4, and D6 should all link here, since this is the page an admin lands on when they want to change something on the output.
- B5 (Enter or Confirm Electrical Usage) should link here for the Energy Profile chart.
- Existing Scanifly PV System Design articles for ASA and TSRF, and Solar FAQs > Weather Data, are linked out from here rather than redefined.
